Below is my Interpretation of FII OI data Sheet for 23-Apr-12.

1. FII  sold 21091  Contracts of NF worth 509 cores OI also increased  marginally by 6119.
2. As Nifty Futures was down  by 103 points and OI has increased  by 6119 , ie.Fall in Price with Rise in Open Interest,Fresh shorts were added by FII.
3. Nifty  closed below 20SMA@5260 before making multiple attempts  to close above 50 SMA@5337 .As Nifty has closed below 5260 trend has changed dramatically. This is the beauty of sideways range bound market that a small fall …

1. FII  bought  7105  Contracts in NF worth 169 Cores in Index Futures with Open Interest Increasing by  57929  contracts.
FII covered 7 shorts in NF in september series and Rollover 57K contract to December series.

1. FII sold 44130 Contracts in NF worth 1076 Cores in Index Futures with Open Interest Increasing by  57640  contracts.
Now this is Interesting as Open Interest has not risen but has fallen today. Going by classic OI Theory
