How to create new habits?

It took me some time to understand the power of habits in our life. A while ago it seemed to me that having habits is boring, difficult, and takes to much time. I didn’t realize that many of the things I was doing were habits implemented without my permission.

But if I already have habits that are implemented without my permission, why not implement any habits I want?

Whether you go to sleep at 12 pm or 9 pm is also a habit. Whether you are used to eating healthy or unhealthy food it’s also a habit. Whether you have a wasting time on Facebook habit or work on your dreams, it is the same for your brain.

It’s only when we try to get rid of any habit, resistance grows and therefore it seems so hard to change it.

The difference is reflected in the results you get from your habits and the quality of your life behind them.

Making habits consciously is harder than making them unconsciously. When you try to do this consciously your mind opposes, but if you do it unconsciously your mind will perceive the action as non-treatening.trick your brain

If you’re skeptical about what you have read, look at all your habits and remember how youve created them.

You drank coffee for a day or two and suddenly you are used to drinking coffee in the morning.

You woke up for a perioad of time in the morning, and unexpectedly in the weekends you can not sleep later in the day.

You have entered for a period of time on Facebook and now you have a habit, logging into daily.

What do all these things have in common? They produce pleasure! Even if you know they are not good, they make you happy and install a state o relaxation and comfort.

The secret to form your unconscious habits is that, the action has to produce a pleasure to the body.

Many of the things that would be good to become positive habits are not pleasure productive, that’s why is so hard to implement them. The little guilty pleasuresare easier to be introduced.

A sedentary person finds no pleasure in a one hour run, a man who eats fast food will find vegetables tasteless, someone who wakes up daily at 12 will not find any pleasure to wake up at 7 in the morning.

From ancient times untill today, the human mind had represented, and still does, a tool that when used or handled inappropriate it can turn into your master.

Achieving constructive habits without no effort it is possible, with one condition: that we fool our brain that there is a pleasure involved.

The irony is that although we know that some things are negative, we still do them. Every time we repeat them, the more we subconsciously imprint them and they become habits.

You know it’s not good to smoke but you still do it. Then you get used and say you’re addicted and you can’t quit.

You know it’s not good to eat fast food but you do it anyway. Then say no other food seems as tasty, and that this is your pleasure.

And what do you say first, everytime you taste the forbidden fruit?

Just a little, just this once.

And just this once turns into every time, and so becoming a habit.

If it works with negative habits, why not try to achieve positive and constructive habits?

When you say, “From tomorrow on I will stop eating fast food and implement the eating healthy habit”, your brain already perceives this as a threat, as a change and enters in a state of resistance / attack.

Your brain does not like changes, and they are perceived as threats.

Leading personality

So, say what the brain wants to hear and do what you want to achieve. Don’t take a radical change as a new habit.

What do you say that today you eat broccoli instead of fast food? Just a little, just this once.

And today just a little, just a little tomorrow and soon will replace the old habit with a new one.

Imagine how your life would look like if within a year you change at least three negative habits with constructive and productive habits.

Just imagine where would you be in a few years if you continue at this pace.

How many goals would you achieve?

The power my habits offered me, helped me fulfill most of my objectives: the habit of writing every day, the habit of learning something new every day, habit of making to do lists.

Those were the most important habits that helped me fulfill my goals.

what are habits? addiction to pleasure/sorrow/cruelty/laziness/working all the time/trading…etc.good or bad you must be able to come out/stop at anything that is near or dear or far from you.
result……. SELF CONTROL…..easily said than done.

Thank you Bramhesh sir for clearing the concept to adopt new habit and especially the line you said,
” So, say what the brain wants to hear and do what you want to achieve. Don’t take a radical change as a new habit. ”

Radical change was not working for me 🙂
